New Welsh School Ysgol Gyfun Gwent Is Coed needed a laser cutter for their new building

Hobarts were delighted to be contacted by a project management Team overseeing the build of a new school in Wales, Ysgol Gyfun Gwent Is Coed.

Students and staff have been looking forward to moving to their new building in Duffryn and finally moved in this September, after construction started summer 2017.

The development of the Welsh medium secondary school in Newport will deliver up to 900 school places in future years. The new building will house brand new English, Maths, ICT and Science classes, as well as a new technology room and attached to the building will be a drama and dance studio.

After discussing the space available in the new DT department and the requirements of the DT team it was decided a VLS6.60 – 60 Watt laser cutter would be the perfect choice for the school.

With a great bed size of (813×457) and the ability to cut up to 12mm of Laserable materials the VLS6.60 is an extremely versatile machine that we are sure the students are going make fantastic use of!
