Puma Oxford Street Flagship Installs First UK VLS3.60ES Laser Systems for Custom Footwear

Hobarts supplies two state-of-the-art Universal VLS3.60ES desktop laser cutters to power real-time, high-precision personalisation at Puma’s new London flagship store.

Puma has officially opened the doors to its new London flagship store on Oxford Street, a major upgrade from its previous Carnaby Street location. To elevate the retail experience, Puma wanted to give every customer the chance to create truly unique football boots and trainers in-store.

To achieve this, they needed a solution capable of delivering consistently high-quality results, paired with intuitive software that retail staff could quickly master. Hobarts is proud to announce the installation of two VLS3.60ES laser systems to meet this challenge. Notably, these are the very first VLS3.60ES units to be sold in the UK!

The Perfect Fit for Retail Personalisation

The new VLS3.60ES is a compact desktop laser system designed specifically for multi-user environments and shared spaces. For Puma, the decisive advantage of this machine is its integrated camera vision system.

This door-mounted camera allows users to visually align digital design files directly onto physical materials. By providing a real-time visual overlay of the artwork on the trainer or football boot, the camera system removes all guesswork. The result is precise, repeatable personalisation every single time.

Key Features of the VLS3.60ES

Beyond its precision alignment, the VLS3.60ES offers a rich set of features that enhance productivity, usability, and safety:

  • Spacious Workspace: It boasts a 24 x 12-inch (610 x 305 mm) material processing area, providing ample room for bulky items like footwear.
  • Intuitive Operation: The system is driven by the user-friendly Laser System Manager (LSM) control software, which features an Intelligent Materials Database.
  • Top-Tier Safety: Built for safe operation in public or shared spaces, it includes laminated safety glass, an Emergency Stop (E-Stop) push button, and overtemperature detection.
  • Versatile Power: The system supports air-cooled CO2 laser sources in a variety of powers, including 10, 30, 40, 50, and 60 W options to suit different material needs.
